Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (2020)

Long-awaited by fans, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla puts Vikings front and centre in this immersive game. Designed and created by the same Montreal team behind Assassin’s Creed Origins, this entry twists the formula even more. There is still the choice between a female and a male characters and an avian companion is still present, this time taking the form of a raven named Sýnin, but Valhalla focuses more on the stealth aspects of the game than earlier entries. You can now hide in plain sight faking a discussion with nearby character or pull your hood down to hide your face, you can even play dead to deceive enemies. The hidden blade is still available for one-hit assassination and you are now able to use it to defeat the bosses instead of going through lengthy battles.

Most of the game takes place in England during the 9th century. The Viking conquests are expanding, conquering all the territories they can reach. They’re ruthless and determined. There is still a strong emphasis on fantasy. At key moments in the story you can experience visions such as seeing the all-mighty god Odin or you’ll have to fight supernatural beasts like a giant wolf. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is another thrilling chapter in an iconic series.
