Next Stop (2019)

What is Toronto culture? Who is behind the slang, the cuisine, and the music so prevalent in the city?

Backed by CBC Gem and Scarborough Pictures, Next Stop sharpened its Toronto gaze told by and for Black Torontonians. Created by Jabbari Weekes, Tichaona Tapambwa and Phil Witme, the four-part anthology series follows the lives of Black Torontonians struggling to adapt to the rising costs of living while nurturing and celebrating the city’s culture.

The light-hearted show follows in the footsteps of Atlanta and Insecure by telling nuanced and accurate stories of Black experiences through the eyes of impressive comedic talent.
