Dennis and Patrick are the two screenwriters behind The Law of Justice, an implausible procedural series about the judicial system. If the show is a hit with the audience, it’s despised by critics… and by the writers themselves.
At their wit’s end, Dennis and Patrick decide to try a new artistic process for the writing of their second season; they willingly put themselves in dangerous and/or criminal situations, to get first-hand experience with the criminal underworld.
Through their exploration, they’ll meet an eccentric man who wields nunchakus, a proudly gay crime syndicate and a conspiracy that runs deeper than they’d ever thought… way enough to give them ideas for their second season.
A definitely dark comedy, Série Noire has become a cult show in Québec. Just mention the name ‘’Marc Arcand’’ to anyone who’s seen the show, and you’re sure to elicit giggles and laughter.
Written by the team of François Létourneau (also starring as Dennis) and director Jean-François Rivard (Les Invincibles, Happily Married), Série Noire fits perfectly in the team’s oeuvre, as a funny yet bizarre show starring loveable losers that we love to hate (and vice-versa!)
