The long-awaited game developed by Electronic Arts own Montreal team at Motive, Star Wars: Squadrons allows you to become a pilot for either the New Republic or the Galactic Empire. As the developers focused on those elements, they managed to craft one of the best dog fight experience in the best science-fantasy franchise.
Motive designed Star Wars: Squadrons as a class-based title. In terms of gameplay this means that both factions has four different spaceships to choose from: the Fighter, the Interceptor, the Bomber and the Support. Each of them has its own strengths and weaknesses making them a good fit or a liability for a given mission. The choice is ultimately yours. The ships can also be upgraded by spending experience points collected during the missions.
Motive made sure you had a lot of different game modes to play through. There is a campaign mode set after the events of Return of the Jedi and has you alternate between the two factions for an all-round experience. But what most players wants with such a title is solid multiplayer modes and Motive more than delivers on that promise. Between the team death-match for up to ten players and the fleet battles in which two teams of up to 5 players compete to destroy each other’s Capital Ships, you will have a lot to do. Moreover, you can complete daily challenges for extra bonus points.
