Vancouver-shot series Surface is centred around Sophie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who scrambles to remember who she is after recovering from an accident that caused near-complete amnesia. The biggest mystery of all is the accident itself: While she is told that she attempted suicide, she has no memory of her motives. Sophie’s identity is unlocked episode by episode through old messages, medical records, and past flames.
