The Big Sex Talk (2022 -)

What do Canadians really think about sex? Talking about things that have historically been taboo is approached with the lights on…studio lights, that it. In The Big Sex Talk, people of all orientations, genders and backgrounds talk about sex in society.

Monogamy, polyamory, sex toys, asexuality—and the feelings associated with everything under the sun are covered in the half-hour show, taking the mystery out of things you might have been curious about but were too shy to ask. You’ll get definitions, explanations and plenty of information that you missed out on in sex-ed class.

There are statistics and science behind sex that people have or don’t have. Technology can be a sex partner, too, with toys, robots, online communities (“sex tech” like dating apps), cam performers, pornography, and VR sex. Each subject explored challenges outdated societal norms. Experts also talk about gender expression and fluidity, an important topic as people find identities not realized in the past.

Hosted by Shan Boodram, a certified intimacy educator, experts and everyday people dig into what turns them on, why they like or love the people in their lives and how they love them. They look at the sociological aspects of sex and identity and have frank, informative discussions about the evolution of sexuality, throwing out the judgment and ushering in plenty of understanding.
