The Hollow (2018 - 2020)

This two-season Netflix series from the Vancouver-based Slap Happy Cartoons animation studio kicks off with three teen characters waking up in a bunker with no memories, and no exit.

The Hollow is a fast-paced adventure mystery revolves around the teens, Mira, Kai and Adam (all voiced by Canadian actors), facing obstacles like mutant wolves and witches, while unravelling the questions they have about who they are, how they got there, and if they know one another.

It’s suspenseful, and downright creepy at times, and not everything is at seems in this world populated by portals, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and a mysterious man they call Weirdy.

It truly is better to go into it not knowing too much, other than it’s an addictive series that excels at cliff-hangers, and that it assuredly pulls off several twists.

While made for older kids, this captivating series is great viewing for adults who like science fiction, mystery and great animation.
