Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (2020)

Tony Hawk is back! Mainly developed by the Albany-based company Vicarious Visions, Québec-City’s own Beenox provided some additional development for this double feature. Indeed, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 offers a remake of the first two games that were such a hit at the turn of the millennium. Not only were they the first skateboarding games to get the it right but they also helped bring it the sport into the mainstream.

This new game offers a lot more than just a graphical adjustment to today’s standards. New objectives have been added to the existing levels. An online mode is available to compete against some of the best players in the world with lightning like reflexes. The competition is fierce.

Gameplay-wise, the developers didn’t just copy the existing controls from the original. Some of them actually come from the third entry of the franchise. To get technical for a few moments, flip tricks can be doubled or tripled by pressing the same button twice or three times for even greater combos which is what we’re here for at the end of the day.

The brand also made a name for itself thanks to a great soundtrack. Although, not all the bands are back from the original game, most of them are and it’s a great trip down memory lane. But new tracks are also part of the mix to add a little more variety and keep you playing.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is also compatible with the next generation consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
